The historic Hatman Building, well-known for its late 19th century painting ‘The Hatter’ on the west façade, is located at 43-47 Broad Street in downtown Charleston. The first floor contains retail space, the second floor is built-out as office space, and high-end residences comprise the top floor.

Constantine Engineering Associates provided Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing and Fire Protection design through construction documents.

62 Queen Street Renovations and Additions - Phases 1 and 2
Charleston, South Carolina

This project involved the design for the renovations and additions to an existing historic 2-story Charleston residence to be re-purposed as a mixed-use building, totaling approximately 5,600-sf.

Phase-1
This phase of the project consists of the demolition of the rear portion of the existing building, leaving the front portion in place. Also included is the renovation of the remaining front building, which consists of 1,100-sf of commercial space on the ground floor, and 1,100-sf of residential space above.

Phase-2
This phase consists of the addition of a 3,400-sf 2-story residential space at the rear of the project, comprised of two separate residences.

Engineering services provided were electrical, mechanical, and plumbing engineering consulting, design services.
